Planete Blues – The Best Of Blues Rock CD Review

Planete Blues CD ReviewThere are actually two separate CDs. The first one is named ‘Planete Blues – The Best of Blues Rock’ and features in my opinion a pretty decent collection on tracks that would in fact fall into this category. The second CD (Planete Blues – The Best Of Blues Rock 2) is a little weird, though. Because it’s seems to be a rather random compilation of tracks that I would personally not view as a logical fit for this genre. On top of that, I wonder what criteria the creators used to determine that those tracks would be considered for a “Best of” issue.

Anyway, back to the first CD. It’s packed with 24 tracks which I listed below. I bought this CD many years back ago in Germany. I just did some research, it seems that there are in fact a bunch of online stores that still carry this album, in case you are interested. I personally don’t think there is anything special when you look at the individual tracks. Don’t get me wrong, as a blues fan, I like the content of Planete Blues a lot, but it’s not that there are any hidden gems on it. Nonetheless, strictly for collection purposes, it might be something you want to look into.

A quick word to the title of this CD. ‘Planete’ is obviously French. And based on the fact that the second CD features a lot of French artists, I think the production is a German/French co-production.

So, not necessarily something I strongly recommend that you need to get your hands on it come hell or high water. But I guess Planete Blues could still be valuable to some of the collectors among us. If you have any questions about this CD that I wasn’t able to answer in this article of my video review about, just leave a comment below.
