KADAVAR – ‘Berlin’ Album Review

KADAVAR BerlinKADAVAR just recently released their third studio album titled ‘Berlin’. As a fan of their previous two releases, I had high hopes for this record. However, when I listen to it for the first time, I felt rather indifferent. But as we know, sometimes it takes a little bit of time for something to grow on you. So I wasn’t quite ready to give up on it yet.

After a few more tries, though, I still pretty much felt the exact same. Now, don’t get me wrong ‘Berlin’ by KADAVAR is certainly not a bad album. It is a very compact and diverse record, featuring great songwriting. And one may even argue it’s the band’s most ‘mature’ release yet. But for some reason, it just doesn’t really work for me. I guess I’m missing some of highlights – here is an example: I remember when I listen to “All your thoughts” or “Black Sun” for the first time, I just couldn’t get enough of those riffs. But on ‘Berlin’, I’m simply not having the same moments.

Admittedly, I am having trouble articulating as to why I exactly don’ like ‘Berlin’ as much as I like KADAVAR’s previous records. But to be clear, I certainly don’t regret buying the album. And who knows, you might feel completely different about it. After all, the critiques I read thus far have been very positive. Anyway, I thought I share my short KADAVAR ‘Berlin’ Review with you guys – let me know what you think and leave a comment below.
