For today’s free guitar tutorial, I thought we will be covering how to play ‘Feliz Navidad’ on guitar. The goal was, as usual, to keep things very simple. So, I was trying to put a version together that would allow us to play this song with three chords only, all of which are on a beginner level.
But before we go there into more detail, for those of you who already watched my video lesson, here is the promised worksheet that has all the Feliz Navidad guitar chords along with the lyrics – the worksheet will be a great way to get started with this tutorial and is a great resource you can use alongside the video.
Alright, the chords we need are: G-Major, C-Major and A-Major. Assuming you can play these three chords, you can then focus on your strumming hand. I followed our general concept and started the tutorial by showing you how to play the tune by using down-strokes. That way you can get a feel for the song and make sure you can focus on the chord changes. After a short while though, you will be able to incorporate the strumming pattern that I demonstrated in the second part of the tutorial.
Coming back to the chords; just in case you are new to the instrument and don’t know how to play the three guitar chords we need for Feliz Navidad, you can check out my Guitar Chordbank and the Beginners Guitar Chords. Both resources are free of charge.
Of course, you can also try to play this song in different keys by using different chords, but I thought using a simple C, G and A chord is a good way to get you started.
