Oh boy. I’ll probably get slammed for the following statement. But I’m not a Pink Floyd fan. I know, what a blasphemous thing to say, but what can you do, it’s just the truth. However, while I’m not found of their music I obviously still acknowledge their tremendous talent/skills as musicians and as a band. It’s simply a matter of personal preference and taste in music.
Anyway, good news for David Gilmour fans. The former Pink Floyd guitarist released two teaser videos, featuring the track “5 A.M.” off his new album “Rattle the Rock” which is scheduled to hit the shelves on September 18.
You can see both videos below, but just so you know, neither one includes the full version of the song. Video #1 is around the recording of “5 A.M.”, showing an orchestra and Gilmour working on the audio for the track. The second video is some sort of animation: I guess intended to serve as a visual along with the audio.
“Rattle that Rock” will be succeeding Gilmour’s 2006 release of “On an island”. In an interview, the guitarist acknowledged the long gap between the row albums and explained that this was not his intention. However, things usually just take longer than initially expected and sometimes it takes momentum to get a goal accomplished.
