I believe it was in the late 1980s when Armenia got hit by an heavy earthquake. Ian Gillan and Tony Iommi with a bunch of friends have since been committed to rebuild a music school there. In a first step they founded “Who Cares” and released two singles which generated a substantial amount of money for the project last year.
The two have now another project lined up for which they recruited ex-Metallica bass player Jason Newsted, Deep Purple’s Jon Lord, Iron Maiden’s drummer Nicko McBrain and Tony Iommi’s son-in-law Linde Lindström. The intent is to produce a full length album which is scheduled to hit the market on June 22 this year.
The two singles of Who Cares – Ian Gillan, Tony Iommi & Friends are called “Out of my mind” and “Holy Water”. Personally, I don’t really like the first one, but Holy Water is definitely a good number.
