Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers And Their Five Stolen Vintage Guitars

What kind of low-life does that shit? Seriously, what is the thief (or the thieves) of the five vintage guitars that got stolen from Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers going to do with the instruments? You can’t sell them obviously. So you will have to keep them. And if keeping them is your only option, well, then you must be a fan, otherwise those guitars would have no value to you, would they? But if you are a fan, then you wouldn’t steal from the people you admire, right? I just don’t get it.

I usual don’t just take images from other people’s websites, but in this case I will assume it’s okay as we are all trying to help in order to get Tom Petty and his band their instruments back:

Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers are offering $7,500 reward to anyone with information leading to the recovery of the guitars – no questions asked.

The stolen guitars include:

• Tom’s blonde 1967 Rickenbacker 360/12

• Scott’s 1967 Epiphone Sheraton

• Tom’s 1965 Gibson SG TV Junior

• Ron’s Fender Broadcaster

• Mike’s Duesenberg Mike Campbell Model

People with information on the whereabouts of the guitars are asked to call Detective Grant at the Culver City Police Department at 310-253-6305. They also can write to stolenguitars@tompetty.com — but Petty & Co. explicitly mentioned that you should only contact them if you actually have relevant information that could help recover the instruments.

While the chances are slim, I do hope that the guitars turn up somewhere so they can go back to whom they belong to. I also hope that they get the idiot or idiots who stole the guitars.
